Week 5 Recap SNF and MNF

Eagles 27, 49ers 24
Eagles: Kevin Kolb filled in nicely for the injured Michael Vick with 253 passing yards and 1 TD. Kolb make a low end QB1 play while Vick is out. DeSean Jackson (2-24) is hurt the most by the absence of Vick. Look for Jackson to continue to struggle while Vick is out. LeSean McCoy played with a cracked rib and had a great game with a 138 total yards on 23 touches and 1 TD. McCoy has be a solid RB1 so far this season and no reason he shouldn't continue to put up good numbers. Brent Celek caught the lone passing TD and finished the game with 47 yards on 3 catches. Celek is struggling this year to put up the numbes he did last year with McNabb. Celek right now is no more than a TE2.

49ers: Michael Crabtree finally broke out this week hauling 9 balls for 107 yards and 1 TD. Look for Crabtree to continue to put up good stats now that the Niners realize they need to get him the ball more. Vernon Davis also put in his best game of the year with 104 yards on 5 catches and 1 TD. Davis is a solid TE1 and should never be benched by his owners. Frank Gore had a decent game totaling 73 yards of offense and 1 TD. But Gore also lost 2 fumbles in the game that hurt the 49ers. Gore is not in trouble of losing playing time and is still a top end RB1. Alex Smith threw for 309 yards and 3 TDs but he also committed 3 turnovers in the game. Smith coming into the season was viewed as a QB2 with some upside but right now he is in trouble of losing the starting gig in San Fran again.

Jets 29, Vikings 20
Jets: Mark Sanchez (21/44-191-0-0) and the Jets offense were pretty much quiet all night. They moved the ball well but couldn't get into the endzone. So this lead to kicker Nick Folk going 5 for 5 on FG attempts on the night. LaDanian Tomlinson led in carries again for the Jets with 20 carries for 94 yards. Shonn Greene got the lone offense TD on a 23 yard run in the 4th quarter. Greene finished the night with 10 carries for 57 yards. As long as Tomlinson is healthy Greene will take a backseat in the Jets offense. Santonio Holmes returned from suspension and had 3 catches for 41 yards. Look for Holmes put up better stats in the coming weeks while he adjusts from sitting out the first month of the season. Braylon Edwards had a alright game with 5 catches for 70 yards. Dustin Keller was finally slowed down this week and only had 2 catches for 14 yards. Keller remains a TE1, while Edwards is no more than a WR3.

Vikings: The return of Randy Moss was a decent one for the Vikings. Moss had 4 receptions for 81 yards and 1 TD. The biggest thing about the addition of Moss was it allowed Percy Harvin to move back to his normal spot in the slot and open up more passing lanes for him. It showed with Harvin catching 2 TDs and finishing the game with 97 yards on 5 receptions. Adrian Petetson was held out of the endzone but he managed 108 total yards of offense on 19 touches. Brett Favre threw for 3 TDs and 264 yards. Favre though turned the ball over 3 times costly Minnesota a chance of winning the game. Favre is dealing with tendinitis in his throwing elbow and last night he was shown holding it after making some throws. If the Vikings offense plays the way it did in the 2nd half last night look for Favre, Peterson, Moss, and Harvin to put up good fantasy stats the rest of the season.
