Week 5 Recap Late Games

Cardinals 30, Saints 20
Cardianls: Undrafted rookie QB Max Hall got the start this week for the Cardinals. Max Hall didn't play that great only passing for 168 yards and throwing 1 INT. He also fumbled twice but the Cards recovered both. Hall though did find Larry Fitzgerald better and more often than Derek Anderson did. Fitzgerald had 7 catches for 93 yards. Beanie Wells was given the chance to take over the starting RB role with 20 carries this week but he only managed 35 yards. Look for Tim Hightower to still be involved a good amount after this showing by Wells.

Saints: Is Drew Brees starting to feel that Madden Curse? In the last 3 weeks Brees has thrown 5 INTs. Brees had 2 TDs and 279 yards passing but he threw 3 INTs also this week. Brees remains a QB1 though and look for him to bounce back in the coming weeks. Marques Colston had one of his best weeks this season with 97 yards on 7 catches. Christopher Ivory (10-39) and Ladell Betts (10-44) shared the backfield duties. Neither back is worth a start for fantasy owners.

Titans 34, Cowboys 27
Titans: Vince Young played a clean game passing for 173 yards and rushing for another 22 yards to go along with 2 passing TDs. Chris Johnson returned to his old form rushing for 131 yards and 2 TDs. Kenny Britt scored again for hte 3rd straight week and finished the game with 4 receptions for 86 yards. Britt should be picked up in every league and a WR3 for fantasy owners as long as Justin Gage is out with an injury.

Cowboys: Cowboys stuck to their word and Felix Jones was the lead back for the Cowboys. Jones rushed 15 times for   109 yards. Look for Jones to get the majority of carries in Dallas. He should be considered a good RB3 with upside. Tony Romo continued his pass happy play throwing for 406 yards and 3 TDs and 3 INTs. Romo is a good QB1 and should not be benched. Miles Austin was the main guy again for Romo and he hauled in 9 balls for 166 yards and 1 TD. Roy Williams also had another solid game with 87 yards on 6 receptions and 1 TD. Williams has looked like the Williams that played in Detroit the last two games. Williams should be considered a good WR4 with the chance of being a WR3 if he continues to play well.

Raiders 35, Chargers 27
Raiders: Jason Campbell replace an injured Bruce Gradkowski early in the game. Campbell led the Raiders to the win with 159 yards passing and 1 TD. Michael Bush got the start and all the carries with Darren McFadden out with a hamstring injury. Bush ran well gaining 104 yards on 26 carries and 31 yards receiving. Bush also scored 1 TD. With McFadden out Bush is a decent RB3 and good bye week fill in. Zach Miller hauled in 6 passed for 62 yards and 1 TD. Miller is starting to live up to the hype he got in the preseason and is a TE1 as of now.

Chargers: Philip Rivers threw for 431 yards and 2 TDs. Rivers is on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards this season and has been a great value pick for his owners that got him a few rounds later than the top QBs. Malcom Floyd had a huge game catching 8 passes for 213 yards and 1 TD. Antonio Gates also had a nice game catching a TD and having 92 yards on 5 receptions. Both Floyd and Gates are great plays as long as Rivers is throwing the ball. Ryan Mathews again shared the load with Mike Tolbert. But this time Mathews outgained Tolbert. Mathews had 9 carries for 59 yards while Tolbert had just 11 yards on 12 carries. Tolbert did score a short TD in the game and remains the goal line back. Look for Mathews to get the majority of carries in the coming weeks. The Chargers are holding Mathews back until he is 100% healthy.
