Replacing Dallas Clark

With the news that Dallas Clark will be out indefinitely with a hand/wrist injury he fantasy owners are more than likely looking for a replacement. Most of his owners already planned to be with out him this week due to the Colts bye. But now they may need to look for a long term solution. Here are my thoughts on who his owners could pick up to replace Clark. I should first say that none of these guys can replace the production that Clark would have given his owners but I feel these choices have the best chance to help try and replace it.

  1. Heath Miller, Steelers: Miller is still available in about 40-50 percent of leagues hosted on the main fantasy league websites. With the return of Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller had his best game of the year catching his first TD of the season and receiving for 50 yards. Last year Miller had 76 receptions for 789 yards and 6 TDs. Now I dont think Miller will get to the reception and yardage totals his had last season. But I think Miller is the best bet to score the most TDs out of the TEs on this list. I see Miller ending the season with around 50 receptions, 600 yards and 6 TDs.
  2. Owen Daniels, Texans (on bye this week): Daniels was coming into the season recovering from a ACL injury he suffered in Week 8 last season. Daniels was one of the best fantsay TEs before getting hurt. Daniels the past two weeks has started to show that he may be finally over the knee injury and the tweaked hamstring his was also dealing with. Owen had 3 receptions for 45 yards and 5 receptions for 75 yards. The Texans have a very potent offense and with Daniels getting healthy it will only make them better. I see Daniels if truly healthy to finish the season with around 65 receptions, 650 yards and 5 TDs.
  3. Benjamin Watson, Browns: Watson is more than likely the top scoring TE available in your league. Watson has put up good numbers the last 4 weeks with a total of 22 receptions, 240 yards and 2 TDs. Watson has always been a player that has shown flashes that he could be a viable fantasy TE but never lived up to it. I am personally hesitant of Watson because of his past letdowns and that he also plays for the Browns. Watson could possibly finish with better numbers than Miller and Daniels because he is off to a better start this season but I tend to lean more to guys that have historically shown they can be consistent.
  4. Donald Lee, Packers: Lee is a very deep sleeper for a TE that could finish well. With Finley going down two weeks ago with a knee injury for the season  Lee has moved to the starting TE spot for the Packers. Lee caught a TD in the game that Finley got hurt but left the game with a chest injury himself. Lee was suppose to miss a week or two with the injury but he practiced and played last week. Though Lee didn't get one reception in the game I think Lee in the long run will start to put up numbers. Before Finley came to the Packers and landed on all fantasy owners radars, Lee put up 6 TDs in 2007 and 5 TDs in 2008.
