Week 4 Recap SNF and MNF

Giants 17, Bears 3
Giants: The Giants D dominated the game getting 10 sacks and 3 turnovers. The Giants D was a good fantasy scorer a few years ago but this game was a product of the Bears horrible offensive line. Eli Manning threw for 195 yards and zero TDs. Though Manning didn't throw a INT in this game he did fumble twice losing both. Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 129 yards and 1 TD. He would have scored a 2nd TD but he was stripped of the ball from behind at the 2 yard line. Brandon Jacobs also scored a TD and rushed for 62 yards. But Bradshaw remains the starter in New York and Jacobs is no more than a backup. Hakeem Nicks put up nice numbers with 8 catches for 111 yards but was held out of the endzone. Steve Smith coming off his best week yet last week followed it up this week with another dud. Smith only managed 4 receptions for 30 yards. Smith was drafted ahead of Nicks in drafts this year but Nicks has outperformed Smith. Nicks is the WR to own in New York since he is putting up more consistent numbers.

Bears: The horrible offensive line that we saw in the preseason for the Bears showed up this week. They allowed Jay Cutler to get sacked 10 times in the first half and was sidelined by a concussion for the rest of the game. Matt Forte only managed 34 yards on 14 touches. Greg Olsen led in receiving with 5 receptions for 39 yards. There should be better weeks for the Bears coming so don't overact just yet.

Patriots 41, Dolphins 14
Patriots: Fred Taylor was out again so BenJarvis Green-Ellis carried the load in the running game rushing 16 times for 76 yards and 1 TD. Green-Ellis makes a nice RB3 as long as Fred Taylor is out. Tom Brady had a quiet game only passing for 154 yard and 1 TD. The TD went to Danny Woodhead who has taken over the 3rd down back role in New England. Wes Welker led in receiving with 8 catches for 70 yards and rookie TE Aaron Hernandez 5 catches for 29 yards. The shocking thing for the Patriots is that Randy Moss was held catchless for the game and only received 1 target the whole game. The special teams was the story for the Patriots though. The Patriots returned a kickoff, blocked FG, and a interception for TDs in the game. They also forced 4 turnovers and had 2 sacks.

Dolphins: Chad Henne had over 300 yards passing with 302 yards and he threw for 2 TDs. But his 2 INTs killed the Dolphins chances in winning. Ricky Williams (8-56, 4-45-1) scored on a 28 yards passing play to bring the game to within a TD in the 3rd quarter. Williams outgained Ronnie Brown (11-27, 4-29) by 45 yards in the game. Brown might start losing touches to Williams if Williams can hold onto the ball and continue to put up good numbers. Brandon Marshall only had 5 receptions for 50 yards while annual PPR sleeper Devone Bess had 9 receptions for 93 yards and 1 TD. Marshall is still a WR1 and the only Dolphins WR worth starting at this point of the year.
