Week 4 Recap Late Games

Jaguars 31, Colts 28
Jaguars: David Garrard finally had a clean game this week by not turning the ball over once. Garrard had 3 TDs (1 rushing) and passed for 163 yards and adding another 44 yards rushing.  Because of Garrard's solid play Maurice Jones-Drew owners were rewarded with his best game yet this season. Jones-Drew scored 2 TDs and added 121 yards of offense on 28 touches. Mike Sims-Walker went catchless for the 2nd time this season. While Mike Thomas caught 5 passes for 68 yards. Outside of Sims-Walker's big game in week 2 he has just 2 catches for 34 yards in the other 3 weeks. As of right now Sims-Walker is a WR4 and Thomas, who has put up more consistent numbers, is also a WR4. Marcedes Lewis caught his 3rd TD of the season and finished the game with just 2 catches for 22 yards. Lewis makes a sneaky play for teams that are looking for a bye week fill in at TE. Josh Scobee made a 59 yards FG as time expired to win the game for the Jags.

Colts: Peyton Manning finally threw his first INT of the season this week. But Manning still put up good numbers throwing for 352 yards and 2 TDs. Donald Brown was out with an injury so Joseph Addai got all the work in the backfield. Addai rushed for 2 TDs and added 82 yards on 19 touches. Reggie Wayne had a big game receiving this week hauling in 15 passes for 196 yards. The only thing that would have made it better was if he would have scored a TD. The TDs went to Austin Collie (5-39-1) and Dallas Clark (7-68-1).

Texans 31, Raiders 28
Texans: The big news from the Texans side was that Arian Foster was benched for the first quarter for missing meetings during the week. His owners were stressing on why he wasn't in the game because during the week there was no mention of Foster being benched. Derrick Ward rushed for a 33 yard TD on the opening drive and finished the game with 80 yards rushing. Once Foster got to play he tore up the Raiders. He rushed for a 74 yard TD to open up the second half and finished the day with 131 yards rushing on 16 carries. Foster also caught 3 balls for 56 yards including a 10 yard receiving TD. If Foster wasn't bench he would been in store for a even bigger game but his owners should be thankful for what he put up after the benching. Andre Johnson didn't play due to that ankle injury. Kevin Walker was the top WR with 4 catches for 35 yards but the top receiver was tight end Joel Dressen who had a TD and 73 yards on 5 receptions. Owen Daniels only had 1 reception and can be dropped in leagues for better options. Matt Schaub had a solid outing throwing for 2 TDs and 192 yards passing.

Raiders:  With injuries slowing WRs Louis Murphy (1-5) and Darrius Heyward-Bey (1-2), Zach Miller had a big game catching 11 passes for 122 yards and 1 TD. Coming into the season Zach Miller was a deep sleeper at the TE position and if he can continue to play well he will be a TE1 soon. Bruce Gradkowski threw 2 INTs but also had 2 passing TDs and 278 yards passing. Darren McFadden was coming into the week as a top 5 fantasy RB and had a alright game with 129 yards of total offense on 18 touches. But he lost a short TD to Michael Bush (7-40-1, 2-16) in the first quarter and left early in the fourth with a hamstring injury. McFadden is known to being a slow healer so be sure to watch for news on McFadden during the week.

Redskins 17, Eagles 12
Redskins: Donavon McNabb returned to Philly for the first time and lead the Redskins to victory. McNabb wasn't great but he threw for 125 yards and rushed for 39 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT. Hot waiver wire pickup Ryan Torain had a nice game this week rushing for a TD and 70 yards on 18 carries. While Clinton Portis rushed 11 times for 55 yards and 26 yards receiving. Torain looks to be the lead back in this RBBC. Portis did look good though in his role as change of pace and 3rd down back. But Torain looks to be the RB to have in Washington though Portis is still worth a roster spot in chance of a Torain injury. Santana Moss was off to a good start this year but he was horrible this week. Moss didn't even caught a pass and touched the ball only 1 time which was a 5 yard carry. Chris Cooley saved his fantasy day by catching a 31 yard TD.

Eagles: Michael Vick was hurt at the end of a dazzling run that was called back because of holding. Vick left the game with a rib injury. Head coach Andy Reid said Vick didn't suffer any broken bones but he does have an injury to his rib cartilage. Vick hasn't be ruled out for next week just yet but it looks like he will not play this week. Kevin Kolb replaced Vick and threw for 201 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT. Those numbers don't look bad but Kolb was very tentative in the pocket checked down on nearly every passing play. Because of this DeSean Jackson (3-19), Brent Celek (3-27-1) and Jeremy Maclin  (1-15) all had sub par games. With Kolb at QB last year in 2 starts Jackson and Celek did well but so far this year that hasn't happened. Hopefully Vick returns quickly so that Jackson, Maclin, and Celek return to there normal production levels. LeSean McCoy benefited from Vick being hurt and had 11 receptions for 110 yards and he rushed for 64 yards on 16 carries. But McCoy reportedly suffered a fractured rib in the game and may be limited or might sit out a week due to this. Make sure you check on McCoys status throughout the week. If McCoy can't go Mike Bell will be the starting RB.

Chargers 41, Cardinals 10
Chargers: Philip Rivers led the Chargers in their blowout of the Cards by throwing for 2 TDs and 241 yards. Ryan Mathews returned from injury was played second fiddle to Mike Tolbert. Mathews didn't get a a late TD but he only had 10 touches for 68 yards compared to Tolbert's 18 touches for 103 yards and 1 TD.  Head coach Norv Turner said after the game that Ryan Mathews is still the starter and that they went on the side of caution with him coming off of the ankle injury and an elbow injury he suffered during practice that week. Antonio Gates continues to tear it up scoring 2 more TDs this week and catching 7 passes for 144 yards. Malcon Floyd was caught for most of the game with just 2 catches for 45 yards. The Chargers got up so quick that they didn't need to pass the ball that much so Floyd should bounce back next week with a solid game.

Cardinals: The Cards finally benched QB Derrick Anderson after he threw 2 INTs and only 64 yards in the first half.  He replacement was rookie Max Hall and he didn't far much better only passing for 82 yards. It looks like Max Hall will be taking over the QB duties in Arizona and he isn't worth a pick up in regular leagues. Tim Hightower (7-24) and Beanie Wells (5-19) shared in the RB duties again and it looks like neither one will be much of a fantasy start going forward. Both should be viewed as RB3s right now with Hightower having the better value since he has he better chance of scoring a TD because he is the goal line back. Larry Fitzgerald had a decent game with 7 catches for 56 yards. With the poor QB play Fitzgerald has been average this season. Personally I would move Fitzgerald right now because I don't seeing it getting any better for him.
