Maroney Traded to Denver

Laurence Maroney of the New England Patriots was traded to the Denver Broncos today in an exchange of draft picks. The Broncos received Laurence Maroney and a 2011 6th round pick and sent the Patriots their 2011 4th round pick. Head coach Josh McDaniels has as history with Maroney being that he was the OC of the Patriots prior to becoming the head coach in Denver. Maroney shouldn't have any trouble picking up the offense and should move to second on the depth chart behind starter Knowshon Moreno pushing Correll Buckhalter to 3rd of the chart.  For the Patriots, Fred Taylor now becomes entrenched as the main back. The Patriots have multiple options at RB and this trade only cleared up their backfield picture a little. Fred Taylor should get the bulk of carries now but Kevin Faulk will play 3rd downs and don't be surprised to see Sammy Morris or BenJarvis Green-Ellis getting the few goal line carries the Patriots do run since they like to pass so much near the goal line.
